Highway Police chief Md Shahabuddin today said that they are going to deploy drones to monitor traffic flow on congested roads and improve the efficiency of law enforcement forces during the upcoming Eid departure.
Additional Inspector General of Police Md Shahabuddin said the drones will help the traffic police to reduce the suffering of commuters.

He announced this after inspecting the Dhaka-Aricha and Nabinagar-Chandra highways this afternoon.
"We will use body cameras, drone cameras and CCTV cameras. We will monitor areas with drones, especially areas where there is a possibility of traffic jams. We will try to guide traffic through drones," he said.
"We expect the Eid journey to begin today and increase from tomorrow and the day after tomorrow," he added.
He also said that the construction material has already been removed from the highway to make the Eid journey smooth. Construction work will continue only in designated areas where enclosures have already been constructed.
Regarding charging extra transport fare, he said, "The authorities have taken action against such practices and strict legal action will be taken against anyone who collects extra fare."
Additional Superintendent of Police of Dhaka District Abdullahil Kafi, OC Shah-Zaman of Savar Model Police Station, OC AFM Syed of Ashulia Police Station, Officer-in-Charge of Savar Highway Police Station Babul Akhtar were present during the inspection.
