Three workers died due to lightning in Sunamganj's Doarabazar. The incident took place on Monday (May 20) around 10:30 am near Kheyaghat in Purba Chargaon of Narsingpur Union of the upazila.

The deceased are - Dulon Mia (28) son of Anshar Uddin of Noagaon (Ganeshpur) village of Islampur Union of Chatak Upazila, Qaddus Mia son of Muslim Mia of Bahadurpur village and one other person whose identity is not known. Several others are under treatment in the hospital in this incident.

Locals said that the thunderstorm started around 10:30 am. Those three workers were working in the river at that time. Two people were killed on the spot when lightning started raining. Some people who were with them were injured. Another person later died at the hospital.

Doarabazar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Badrul Hasan confirmed the matter and said that the body will be handed over to the family after legal complications.
