Former Minister of Textiles and Jute Ministry and chairman of Gazi Group Golam Dastgir Gazi has been arrested by the police. Law enforcement forces arrested him from his home in Shantinagar of the capital on Saturday (August 24) night. However, it is not yet confirmed in which case he has been arrested.

Paltan Police Station OC Mollah confirmed the arrest. Khalid Hossain said, the former jute minister was arrested from a house in Shantinagar. He was hiding in a relative's house to avoid arrest. A team of DB police arrested him from there tonight.

He is now in DB office. However, OC Khalid did not say anything about the case in which he was arrested.

Earlier, a murder case was filed against 105 people including Sheikh Hasina and Golam Dastgir Gazi at Rupganj police station in Narayanganj.

Last Wednesday (August 21), Aunt Rina filed the case as a plaintiff in the murder of Roman Mia (17), a class 10 student of Nav Kishloy High School, who was shot by terrorists during the student uprising. The plaintiff in the case said that on August 5, during the joyous march of the students and the masses, the leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliates attacked the students and the masses in front of Jankalyan School in Chanpara area of ​​Rupganj with pistols, firearms and indigenous weapons. At that time, the terrorists fired at the students and detonated cocktails.

At that time, Roman Mia was injured by the terrorists. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Purvagram Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
