Chief Assistant Commissioner of Shah Alam District Police Mohammad Iqbal Ibrahim said that the police received information about the incident at 7:20 pm. He said it is believed the 51-year-old suspect became angry with the victim after she drank his orange juice during Iftar.
Investigation revealed that the victim Bangladeshi (49) worked as a general labourer. The victim and the suspect, a Pakistani citizen, lived together in a hostel built in factory containers.
He said in a statement today that the accused Pakistani citizen became angry with the Bangladeshi victim for drinking his juice during Iftar. He then retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the victim multiple times.
The suspect was arrested at the scene at 7:30 p.m. Police also seized a knife, believed to have been used by the suspect to stab the victim.
The investigation is ongoing under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of death or imprisonment for 30 to 40 years, with at least 12 strokes of the cane if the death penalty is not imposed.
