A car crashed near the Zahrat Al Umrah Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. At that time, a group of worshipers were preparing for Iftar next to the mosque. One person died after being hit by a speeding car.

In a report on Saturday (March 23), local media reported this information. The media also reported that one person was killed and 21 others were injured in the accident.

Witnesses said the car was running in one direction. It then collided with another vehicle. And the car overturned right where people had gathered to break the fast.

Members of emergency services including an ambulance and civil defense team attended the scene. Security forces are now working to find out the cause of the accident.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast all day and sit together to break fast. They especially gather in mosques. Before the start of Ramadan, the Saudi government ordered that no one can break the fast inside the mosque. But iftar can be done in the area around the mosque.

It is believed that the people involved in the accident were sitting outside the mosque for Iftar. There they have to accept the cruel accident. Meanwhile, one lost his life while breaking Iftar.
