A company based in Colorado, USA, is going to build the largest aircraft in the history of aviation. It is named 'Windrunner', which literally means 'wind runner'. The aircraft will have a huge wingspan of 300 feet. It will use cost-effective aviation fuel to meet the world's carbon reduction targets. But for landing it has to give a slightly uneven runway. In this case, very shiny surface runways cannot be used.

The manufacturer, Radia, said the aircraft will not operate on international routes. It will run on various routes within the United States. For cargo, the Windrunner will have at least 272,000 cubic feet of interior space, capable of holding three Olympic swimming pools. It is 12 times larger than the Boeing 757-400. Windrunner can land on a 1,800 meter runway. No other commercial aircraft can land on a short runway.

The world's heaviest aircraft was the Russian Antonov An-225. It was destroyed at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Windrunner is much bigger than that airplane. According to various media sources, the aircraft will start commercial operations around 2027. However, Radia did not comment on this. No specific deadline is given on their website.
