Anadolu news agency reported this information in a report on Thursday (May 2). According to reports, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the Muslim world to act unitedly on Thursday to ensure the end of Israel's attack on Gaza.
In a phone call with Gambian President Adama Barrow, President Erdoğan discussed the ongoing Israeli attacks on Palestine and the agenda of the 15th Islamic Summit to be held in The Gambia, Turkey's Communications Directorate reported on social media platform X.
The Gambia will host the Islamic Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the capital Banjul on May 4-5. The Turkish President expressed hope that the decisions taken at the summit will be beneficial.
He also said that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will represent Turkey at the conference. Erdoğan said, "Joint steps can be taken to increase relations between Türkiye and Gambia."
