BNP leader Nipun Roy Chowdhury has claimed that besides trying to join the King's Party before the 12th parliamentary elections, Shakib Al Hasan also tried to communicate with BNP acting chairman Tarek Rahman.
Nipun Roy gave this information when asked about Shakib in a private television talk show.
Nipun Roy Chowdhury said, "Many big leaders of Awami League also know that Shakib Al Hasan has been drinking water from some ghats and he has been drinking water from ten ghats. I say with responsibility, he also wanted to meet our Acting Chairman. Wanted to talk on skype. The leader did not give him time. Evidence of this can be found by checking the video footage of Shakib Al Hasan's house."
This BNP leader said, "My father's house is Magura. Shakib wanted to capitalize on that and contact my brother and me to contact our leader Tariq Rahman. He thought where he would get benefits. BNM General Secretary brought Shakib to Hafiz Sahib. He offered many ways but Hafiz Sahib refused. Hafiz Sahib has made his position clear long ago. It would not be appropriate to comment on him.”
Nipun Roy Chowdhury also said, "I don't want to talk about Shakib, because this Shakib Al Hasan also met me before the election saying that he will come to BNP." He even wanted to go to the hospital to see Begum Khaleda Zia physically.”
Recently, the news of the involvement of BNP Vice Chairman Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan with the Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) known as the 'King's Party' has been published in the media. Various discussions have been going on for a few days. However, BNP Vice Chairman Hafiz gave details about the incident in a press conference commenting that the matter is 'not correct'.
