Rajshahi district BNP convener Abu Saeed Chand participated in his mother's funeral and burial after being released on parole from prison. On Sunday (March 24) at around 1 pm, he attended his mother's funeral at Mariya in Shalua Union of Rajshahi's Charghat Upazila.
Imprisoned Abu Saeed Chand's mother Mocha. Ashrafunnesa passed away on Saturday (March 23) evening due to old age at the age of 96. He is buried today in the family cemetery.
It is known that after the death of his mother, he was released on parole for only two and a half hours from Rajshahi Central Jail around 12 noon today. Then he ran from the prison to his mother's funeral. Adviser to BNP Chairperson Mizanur Rahman Minu, BNP Central Committee Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, BNP Relief and Rehabilitation Co-Editor and former Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milan and others were present at the funeral.

Abdul Jalil, Senior Jail Superintendent of Rajshahi Central Jail, said Abu Saeed Chand was released on parole for two and a half hours under tight security. He left the Rajshahi Central Jail at 12 noon on Sunday and reached the jail again at 2:16.
Incidentally, BNP national executive committee member and Rajshahi District BNP convener Abu Saeed Chand has been sentenced to three years imprisonment in a case of money embezzlement and fraud. The judge of Rajshahi Judicial Magistrate Court-1 announced this verdict on September 24 last year.
Apart from this, a total of 27 cases were filed against Abu Saeed Chand in various districts of the country including Rajshahi for threatening to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a speech at a public meeting of BNP in Puthia, Rajshahi on May 19 last year.
