Two planes collide at Kolkata airport

A collision occurred between two aircraft standing on the runway at Kolkata Airport. The incident took place between two planes of IndiGo and Air India.

Officials say the crash occurred when two planes came dangerously close to each other on the runway. However, no casualties were reported in this incident.

According to Indian media, an Air India plane was waiting for clearance to enter the runway at Kolkata airport on Wednesday morning (March 27). Then an Indigo plane came and hit. As a result, a part of the wing of the Air India aircraft was broken. And one wing of the IndiGo plane was also damaged.

The country's aviation regulator DGCA has temporarily suspended the pilots of both the planes. And an investigation has been ordered to look into the whole matter.

A DGCA official told NDTV, 'We have ordered a detailed investigation into the matter. Both drivers have been dismissed. The ground staff will also be interrogated. It is reported that there were at least 135 passengers, including four children, on board the IndiGo flight.
