In front of Shah Rukh Narin's storm, collection of records in Kolkata

Sunrisers Hyderabad set the record for the highest team collection in IPL history in this season itself. Kolkata Knight Riders were on the verge of breaking their record of 277 runs today (Wednesday). However, in the end it was not possible. However, Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvansi's batting batting has become the record for the second highest runs scored in an innings in IPL history. Kolkata gave Delhi Capitals a target of 273 runs at the end of the scheduled over in a pair of fifties.

Rishabh Pant's Delhi hosts Kolkata in their fourth match today in Visakhapatnam. So far, the host team, who have won one match, can be said to be in shambles. Shreyas Iyer's Kolkata, on the other hand, came into the field looking to pick up their third straight win of the season. West Indies' star all-rounder Narine has made that task a bit easier for them. A careless game shot did not get him a century though. However, Narine's 85, Raghuvanshi's 54 and Andre Russell's 41 runs have given Kolkata enough capital to win!

Kolkata have reaped the rewards of trusting Narine in the openers before. Even today, this Caribbean batsman did not prove them wrong by winning the toss and batting first. Markut scored a fifty in batting in just 21 balls. He later turned it into a career-best innings. Although a bit shaky in the beginning, Narine slowly began to play aggressively with Phil Salt. English batter Salt (18 off 12) departs to partner Indian youngster Raghuvanshi, the highest run-scorer of the U-19 World Cup.

After that, both of them scored runs together. The pair eventually settled for 104 runs. Kolkata owner and Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan was getting great entertainment in the gallery. He was also encouraging the cricketers by clapping. At one point, when the night camp was waiting to see Narine's century, he was caught behind the wicket by Mitchell Marsh. But before that, he played an innings of 85 runs with 7 four-sixes from 39 balls. Which is the highest run of his T20 career. Raghuvanshi then scored a fifty off 25 balls. Get out for 54 runs (27 balls).

By then, Kolkata was on its way to collecting records. In the end, it seemed that they could almost break the record of Hyderabad's highest run. However, Ishant Sharma's controlled bowling in the last over did not happen. Earlier, Andre Russell scored 41 runs off just 19 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Besides, Shreyas Iyer scored 18 (11 balls) and Rinku Singh scored 26 runs (8 balls).

Enrique Norkia took the maximum 3 wickets at the cost of 59 runs for Delhi. Besides, Ishant Sharma took 2 wickets and Mitchell Marsh and Khalil Ahmed took one wicket each.
