Several planes could not land at the New York City airport due to the earthquake. At that time they were diverted.
The US National Tsunami Warning Agency said there was no tsunami threat due to the earthquake.
A spokesman for New York City Mayor Eric Adams said there was no damage from the earthquake. However, the Holland Tunnel under the Hudson River has been closed to traffic. It is now being determined whether the tunnel suffered any cracks or damage due to the earthquake.
