According to the Damurhuda Upazila Election Office, Madana-Parakrishnapur UP Chairman SAM Zakaria Alam submitted a resignation letter to the Damurhuda UNO on Monday, April 15, to participate in the upcoming upazila elections.

Damurhuda Upazila Nirbahi Officer Roksana Mita said that after accepting the resignation letter of the UP chairman and declaring the post of former chairman null and void, the panel chairman has been instructed to perform the duties of acting chairman.

In this regard, UP Chairman SAM Zakaria Alam, who resigned, said that to participate in the Damurhuda upazila election on May 8, the last time to submit nominations was on Monday, April 15. I submitted my nominations online following all the rules. But District Returning Officer and Damurhuda Upazila Parishad Election Officer Md. Motawakkil Rahman said SAM Zakaria Alam's nomination was not accepted.

SAM Zakaria Alam also said that the error may occur due to server problems, if the server is correct it will show accepted. The returning officer Md Motawakkil Rahman said that SAM Zakaria Alam did not inform the commission about the server problem, so there is no chance to accept the nomination.
