The maximum temperature recorded at Chuadanga was 41.5 degrees Celsius. Meteorological Department says, April is not the end, May will be hotter this year. The maximum temperature may be 44 degrees Celsius.
In 13 districts of the country, the maximum temperature has crossed 40 degrees Celsius and the intense heat wave is going on. Normality of public life is being disturbed in various parts of the country including Khulna, Dhaka due to intense heat. Human suffering has become extreme. Meteorologists said Saturday (April 20) may increase the temperature further.
According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from Friday (April 19) 6 pm, Comilla and Kishoreganj regions, along with Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, there may be temporary gusty or gusty winds or rain with thunder. Along with that, there may be scattered rain of hail at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky. During this time, the day temperature may rise slightly across the country and the night temperature may remain almost unchanged.
An excess of water vapor may increase discomfort. The weather forecast for inland river ports till 1 pm on Friday (April 19) said that gusty winds with a speed of 60 to 80 km per hour from west or north-west with rain or thundershowers are likely to blow over Sylhet region. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display naval warning signal number 2. Meanwhile, the intensity of the heatwave over various parts of the country may increase and may continue. So the Meteorological Office has issued a heat alert for three days.
