The Meteorological Department has not given any sign of abating in the heat wave that is sweeping over most of the country's districts. As a result, the administration has not yet taken any decision on the question whether the holidays of the educational institutions which are closed throughout this week will be extended again or not. If the heat wave continues till next week, online classes may be closed immediately.
The heatwave vacation for all educational institutions in primary and secondary schools is scheduled to end next Saturday (April 27). In this situation, the Directorate of Secondary Education (MAUSHI) is thinking of starting online classes without extending the holidays to complete the syllabus. And there is no decision yet on whether the holidays are increasing in primary schools or opening from Sunday with reduced classes.
However, the officials of the education administration say that there are plans to start online classes without extending the holidays. In that case, the top officials of the ministry and directorate will take a decision in a meeting.
When asked to know, Maushi Director (Secondary) Prof. Syed Zafar Ali said that if the heatwave continues, without stopping the classes, how to keep the students engaged in studies online or through assignments is going on. However, no decision has been made yet regarding online classes.
Shah Rezwan Hayat, director general of the Directorate of Primary Education, said that no decision has been taken yet on whether the classes will open from next Sunday or if the holiday will be extended. Next Friday (April 26) will be discussed and the decision will be announced. If the heat wave does not subside, there are plans to start online classes.
