A Class IX student named Meem Akhter died after being hit by the Chattla Express train in Comilla. The students of the school immediately got angry at this incident and blocked the railway line by blocking the Mahanagar Prabhati train. Later, with the efforts of the police and railway authorities, the students released the stranded Mahanagar Prabhati train after 10 minutes.

The incident took place on Thursday (May 16) around 10:30 am in the Rasulpur Shrine Gate area of Amratali Union of Comilla's Adarsh Sadar Upazila.

The deceased Meem Akhter was a student of Class IX of Rasulpur High School. She is the daughter of Jahangir Alam of Rasulpur East. Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Firoz Hossain confirmed the matter.

Locals said that while going to school, the student Meem was crossing the railway line through Rasulpur shrine gate. Meanwhile, the Dhaka-bound Chattla Express and the Chittagong-bound Tourism Express cross together. The student saw the train on one side but did not see the train on the other side and was hit by the Chattla Express and died on the spot.

After that the school students came and stayed at Rasulpur railway station. At that time, they stopped the Chittagong-bound Prabhati train. Later, when the police reached the spot and convinced the agitated students, the students left the blocked train. However, students are staying at the station to demand justice. The students have blocked the railway line till the last news.

Billal Hossain, head teacher of the school, said that Meem, a ninth grade student, was hit by the Chattla Express train while coming to school. The students of the school later blocked the Chittagong-bound Metropolitan Prabhati train and demanded justice.

OC Feroz Hossain said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. The police went and brought the agitated school students under control. Later, Mahanagar Prabhati leaves the train. The body has been sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. Legal process is going on in this incident.
