Bangladesh will get as much money even if they do not win any match in the World Cup

Cricket lovers are always curious about how much money the teams participating in the World Cup will get. ICC has announced a large amount of prize money in the ninth edition with the participation of a record 20 teams in this year's T20 World Cup. The prize money is staggering.


The ICC has announced the prize money for the T20 World Cup through a notification this evening. This time, the prize money of the entire tournament for all the teams has been estimated at 1 crore 1 million dollars (about 131 crore 62 lakh in Bangladeshi currency), which is the highest in the history of T20 World Cup. The champion team of the tournament will get Tk 28 crore 66 lakh. The runner-up team will get about 15 crore rupees. The two teams who left the semi-finals will receive Tk 9 crore 21 lakh.

Apart from this, the teams finishing from ninth to twelfth place will get 2 crore 90 lakh rupees. No team has to return empty-handed even if they don't win a match. 2 crore 60 lakhs will be given to the teams ranked 13th to 20th. If Bangladesh exits the group stage without winning a match, they will get this equal amount of money. And except for the final and semi-final, the teams will get Tk 36 lakh for winning each match.

About the biggest event in the history of the T-World Cup, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardyce said, "This event is historic for several reasons. So I tried to reflect that in the prize money of the players. We hope that crores of cricket fans around the world will enjoy this World Cup.
