This time on Eid-ul-Azha, government employees are getting five consecutive days off. Government officials and employees will be on vacation from June 14-18.
Meanwhile, the moon of the month of Zilhaj was seen in the sky of Bangladesh on Friday evening. As a result, the month of Zilhaj has started from Saturday (June 8). Eid-ul-Azha on the 10th of the Arabic month.
As such, on June 17 (Monday), the country will celebrate the second major religious festival of Muslims, the holy Eid-ul-Azha or the Eid of Sacrifice.
On this occasion, there will be public holidays on June 16, 17 and 18 (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). But before the Eid holiday, June 14 and 15 (Friday and Saturday) is a two-day weekend. That's why the vacation of government officials and employees will start from June 14. They will be on vacation till June 18.
According to the Ministry of Public Administration, Eid-ul-Azha is a general holiday. And on the day before and after Eid, the government officials-employees enjoy government holidays by executive order.
A large number of people usually leave the capital by rail, road and sea during the Eid holidays to share the joy with their loved ones at home in the village. Dhaka became empty as millions of people returned to their villages.
Those concerned think that some of the government officials and employees who will celebrate Eid far and wide will leave the office next Thursday.
On the other hand, after the Eid-ul-Azhar holiday, government offices will run on a new schedule from June 19. From that day, government officials and employees will work from 9 am to 5 pm as before.
