A vehicle carrying army personnel has been bombed in Pakistan. Seven people including an army captain were killed.

According to reports, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack was carried out on a vehicle carrying army personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday. Seven people including the captain were killed.
Dawn reported that attempts were made to ambush not only vehicles carrying army personnel, but security checkposts in Bajaur in the province. However, the attack was resisted by the police.
Local officials said that the vehicle carrying army personnel was going to Kachi Kamar area. On the way, the attack took place near a village in the border area of Mianwali district of Punjab.
According to Pakistan ISPR, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the vehicle of security forces in Lakki Marwat district.
According to the army's media wing, Kasur resident Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, Skardur Subeda Major Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Hussain Ali, Sepahi Asadullah, Manzoor Hussain and Rashid Mehmood were killed in the blast.
ISPR said operations are underway to eliminate terrorists in the affected areas. Criminals involved in this incident will be brought to justice. Security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism and make sacrifices in this task.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the Bajaur district police claimed to have thwarted an attack by terrorists. They said a group of terrorists attacked a police post in Miyagano area of Khar tehsil with weapons. The terrorists used rocket launchers and other weapons in this attack.
A few police officers present at the post immediately responded to the attack, the statement said. A senior police official said that the attack and those involved in it are being sought.
