Police constable Kawsar Ali was listening to music on his mobile phone after his colleague Monirul Haque was shot dead in the diplomatic neighborhood of Baridhara, Dhaka. According to a source related to the investigation, he was listening to music while sitting on the pavement approximately 20 yards away from the body lying on the road.
Monirul is in remand for 7 days with Gulshan Thana Police in Kawchar in the murder case. Gulshan Police Station OC Mazharul Islam said that he is being interrogated. In addition, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) made a three-member investigation committee in this incident on Monday. The committee has been directed to submit the inquiry report within 7 days.
According to sources related to the investigation, the police officials are interrogating Kawsar. But he is not talking about the murder. In the face of interrogation, he repeatedly says that he did not decide the act (murder). But not sorry.
It is known that Constable Monirul Haque and Constable Kawsar Ali were in charge of security at the Palestinian Embassy in Baridhara on the day and night of the incident. At around 12:30 AM, they had an argument. Kauchar was inside the police box and Monirul was standing outside on the pavement with arms raised. Kawsar got excited and shot Monirul from the box. Monirul fell down on the road after being shot.
After that Kauchar came out of the box and shot Monirul again. After 30 rounds have been fired, another magazine is inserted and fired. After the shooting, Kawsar sometimes sits on the sidewalk, sometimes walks. One time he sat on the sidewalk with his legs spread. He was listening to music while keeping his mobile phone next to him.
