Shakib Al Hasan has been inconsistent in batting since the last season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He is not able to take advantage of the ball in the ongoing World Cup. Shakib has never seen off form in both batting and bowling departments. Tamim Iqbal feels that the performance of this experienced all-rounder is a cause for concern for the team.

Shakib has bowled only 4 overs in 2 matches so far in the ongoing World Cup. Did not see the wicket. He scored only 11 runs in 2 matches with the bat. Yesterday against South Africa, he gave away just 3 runs off 4 balls when the team needed it.

Tamim said about Shakib's performance in a show of cricket-based Indian website Cricinfo, 'Shakib is our best bowler. His 4 overs are very important. He is an experienced bowler. He has been a top-ranked all-rounder for years. So if he can't bowl 4 overs, then that's definitely a problem.'

Bangladesh lost the match against South Africa yesterday by 4 runs. But if the umpire did not make a wrong decision, Bangladesh could have got a four from the leg bye. At the end of the day that would affect the outcome of the match. Expressing anger at the umpire's decision, Tamim said, 'These four runs could have changed the fate of Bangladesh. I may be talking like a fan. But if you think, it was very important for Bangladesh. I heard everyone talking about it in the commentary room too.'

'When you have time, you can wait a few seconds and see where the ball went. Is it a boundary or not! Then you make your decision. If the batter is not out, and the ball goes out of bounds, then a run should be given. What if he doesn't get out?'- he added.
