Seventeen days after assuming the responsibility of the interim government, Professor Yunus delivered his first speech to the nation on this day. In a 26-minute-long speech, Professor Yunus thanked the nation for supporting the government’s work in reforming state institutions. He said the government was ready to meet the people's expectations, but patience was needed.

He said, "Forcing the fulfillment of all demands immediately, threatening individuals by entering institutions, pressuring for the acceptance of cases, and attacking courts to impose a form of judgment on arrested individuals must stop."

The Chief Adviser mentioned that every institution in the country had been destroyed over the last 15 years, and all sectors would be reformed. He also spoke about ensuring justice for misconduct like the Ayinaghar scandal, withdrawing politically motivated false cases, and forming a police commission.
