Sports advisor Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan expressed his desire to see national cricket team player Shakib Al Hasan's Test farewell on home soil. He made this statement to the media following Bangladesh's match in the Women's T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Asif Mahmud said, "A player with so many achievements for his country, since he wants to finish his Test career in Bangladesh, I hope he gets that farewell."

The advisor also mentioned the need to ensure the highest level of security for him as a player. However, he noted that any complaints regarding this matter should be handled legally, stating that the Ministry of Law has clarified its position on the issue.
