In the incident of bus and pickup van collision in Kanaipur of Faridpur. Another person named Iqbal Hussain has died. With this, the number of deaths increased to 14 people.

He died at Padma Setu area on Tuesday (16 April) around 2.30 pm on his way to Dhaka. Karimpur Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Salauddin confirmed this information to Dhaka Post around 3:15 pm.

He said that Md. died on the way to take Dhaka. Iqbal Hossain is a resident of Kumrail village in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur.

Earlier, 11 people died on the spot. Among them are four members of the same family. Apart from this, two more people died while undergoing treatment at Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital.

Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Kamrul Ahsan Talukdar said that it has been decided to pay 20,000 to the families of each of the victims and 10,000 to the families of the five injured. Besides, in view of their application, each family of the deceased will be given five lakh rupees and three lakh rupees for the injured. Besides, a seven-member investigation committee has been formed to investigate the incident.
