BRTA's decision to adopt 'no helmet, no fuel' policy for motorcycles

Motorcycle users will not be given fuel if they are not wearing helmets - this decision was taken in the advisory council meeting of BRTA. Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has decided to adopt 'No Helmet, No Fuel' policy for motorcyclists across the country.

Besides, according to the decision taken at the BRTA Advisory Council meeting held today (May 15) in the capital's BRTA building, no battery-powered auto-rickshaws will be allowed to ply in Dhaka.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader presided over the meeting. He told this information to the journalists after the meeting. He said, "We have agreed to the proposal to remove unfit vehicles from the roads of Dhaka city."

Obaidul Quader also said that the ministry will not accept any new project until the ongoing projects are completed.

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam and others were present in the meeting.
