Nowadays, government institutions and ministries use Facebook pages for various official purposes. This way is adopted because information can reach more people in less time. However, Dutch privacy watchdog AP has advised government agencies not to go down this path.
According to the Reuters news agency report on Friday (April 19), AP has given such advice to various government agencies in the Netherlands today. The reason given is that organizations should not use Facebook until they know what is done with the personal information of Facebook users associated with the government's Facebook page.

Alaid Wolfsen, chairman of the AP, said in a statement, "Users who are connected to the Facebook pages of government agencies, should be given the security of personal and sensitive information." Facebook's ownership organization Meta has already been informed about this. Alexandra van Hafelen, junior minister in the Ministry of Digitalisation, spoke to Meta. He urged to take immediate action in this regard. Alexandra van Hafelen said, "We will stop using it until Facebook takes effective action in this regard." He also said that if they do not take any action, then I will stop using Facebook.
