Counting of 27 sacks of taka received from the donation box at Kishoreganj's historic Pagla Mosque is underway. It has already exceeded six crore rupees. It is believed that this time the amount may exceed seven or seven and a half crores.

On Saturday (April 20) at 7:30 in the morning, 9 iron donation boxes of the mosque were opened and brought to the second floor of the mosque for counting. The boxes were opened and 27 sacks were found. Then the calculation begins. But before the evening it crossed six crores. Foreign currency and gold ornaments were found.

Rupali Bank Assistant General Manager (AGM) Rafiqul Islam confirmed this. He said that this six crore taka is being sent to Rupali Bank Kishoreganj branch under police security.

The donation boxes were opened in the presence of Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner and Pagla Mosque Management Committee President Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russell Sheikh.

Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner and Pagla Mosque Management Committee President Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad said that after four months and 10 days, 9 donation boxes of Pagla Mosque were opened on Saturday morning. It is hoped that new records will be created breaking all the records of the past.

A team of 220 people, including Additional District Magistrate Mahua Mumtaz, Imam Mufti Khalilur Rahman of the mosque and Rupali Bank Assistant General Manager (AGM) Rafiqul Islam, members of the mosque management committee including CBA leader Anwar Parvez and teachers and students of madrasas and orphanages located in the mosque complex, participated in counting the money. took

Before this, the last 9 donation boxes of Pagla Mosque were opened on December 9, 2023. Then a record 6 crore 32 lakh 51 thousand 423 taka was received. Besides, foreign currency and gold ornaments are also available.

The donation box of Kishoreganj's historic Pagla Mosque was opened four times in 2023. A total of 21 crore 87 lakh 85 thousand 181 taka is available in four times. Besides money, diamonds, foreign currency and gold ornaments were also found in large quantities.

The money received from the donation of the mosque is spent on the related mosques, various mosques, madrasahs and orphanages of the district as well as various social welfare works. Apart from this, 80 volunteers of Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital, who are engaged in the service of patients during Corona, were also given a donation from this donation.

An initiative has been taken to build a beautiful Islamic complex of international standards in the mosque. The work will start soon. Which will be called 'Pagla Masjid Islamic Complex'. The initial cost of its construction has been estimated at 115 crore rupees. There, 60,000 worshipers can pray together.
