Election Commissioner Mohammad Alamgir said that similar measures will be taken in the upazila elections as in the parliamentary elections. Who is related to whom is not important here. No exemption shall be granted in respect of any relative.
He said these things to reporters after an exchange meeting with District Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer, local authorities of law enforcement and election related individuals on the occasion of upazila election in the conference room of Narayanganj District Commissioner's office on Sunday (April 21).

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Haque chaired among others District Police Superintendent Golam Mostafa Russell, RAB-11 captain Lt. Colonel Tanvir Mahmud Pasha, election returning officer and Narayanganj district election officer Kazi Md. Istafizul Haque Akand along with senior officers of law enforcement and election related persons were present.
EC Alamgir also said that we want a fair, peaceful and impartial election. We will not bow down to any evil power, any injustice. Our law enforcement, our administration and other departments have taken steps to ensure that the elections are peaceful.
Regarding influence in the elections, he said, the law and order forces will be careful so that no one can influence at the center. We will keep a watchful eye. You have already seen that the officials of the Election Commission have taken action against those who have done such things.
