Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed has gone to the United States on an official visit at the invitation of the US Army. He will attend the Land Forces Pacific (LANPAC) conference in the state of Hawaii.
This information was informed in a press release sent by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday (May 13).

According to the notification, during the visit, he will participate in the Land Forces Pacific (LANPAC) Symposium and Exposition-2024 to be held in the US state of Hawaii from May 14-16.
The aim of this symposium is to create an atmosphere of mutual trust, develop professional relations and strengthen the regional security system by improving the relationship between the land forces in the Indo-Pacific region.
Apart from participating in the symposium, the Bangladesh army chief will also participate in the meeting of army chiefs and high-ranking military officials from various countries including the United States, United Kingdom, France and Australia. They will discuss various issues of mutual cooperation in the meeting.
After the symposium, the army chief is expected to return home on May 19.
