But in the next 72 hours heavy rainfall in most parts of the country is predicted to create flood situation again in Sylhet-Sunamganj.
The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center of Bangladesh Water Development Board (PUBO) reported this information on Friday (June 28).

It said that the water level of the Brahmaputra-Yamuna rivers is stable, which may continue for the next 24 hours. The water level of the Ganga-Padma rivers is rising, which may continue for the next 48 hours.
According to meteorological agencies, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in the northeast and adjacent uplands of the country in the next 24 hours and heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 48 to 72 hours. As a result, the water level of the rivers in the north-eastern part of the country may increase at this time.
Apart from this, in the next 48 to 72 hours, the water level of Surma, Kushiara, Old-Surma, Sarigoin rivers in the north-eastern region will increase rapidly and may cause short-term flooding in some low-lying areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts.
Meanwhile, the weather forecast till 6 pm on Saturday said that a low pressure is prevailing over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas. The monsoon axis extends through Bihar, central and southern Bangladesh towards north-east to Assam. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere in North Bay of Bengal.
In this situation, rain with thunder may occur in most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and many places of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions. Also, there may be heavy rainfall in some parts of the country.
