Describing the excellence and greatness of the holy Ramadan, the Prophet (PBUH) said, "When the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed and the feet of Satan are fettered." (Sahih Bukhari: 1899).

Every moment of this month is so blessed and auspicious that the rest of the eleven months cannot match it. Satan is chained during this season of worship. As a result, worship is very easy.

In the hadith narrated by Companion Abu Huraira (RA), the Holy Prophet (SAW) said, "When the first night of Ramadan arrives, the feet of Satan and disobedient jinn are shackled." The gates of hell are closed, not a single gate is opened. A summoner calls out, O benefactor, advance. O seeker of evil, stop. And Allah frees many people from hell. This happens every night during Ramadan.' (Tirmidhi: 682)

If someone dies in the month of Ramzan, he is lucky. This death is a sign of his good fortune. But many are heard to say, if someone dies in Ramadan, the torment of his grave is forgiven. How true is this? The statement of some researcher in this regard is that no special virtue of dying in Ramadan is proven by Sahih Hadith. If someone dies after fasting the whole of Ramadan, merit has been attributed to him—it is because of his actions. Not because of Ramadan. Belief-Amal is the main subject of human dignity. If he dies only in Ramadan without faith and deeds, he cannot get this virtue.

The statement of another group of scholars is that it is true that there is no pure narrative that one is freed from the punishment of the grave if one dies in Ramadan. But the door of Hell is closed, it is only in the hadith. Therefore, if one dies in this month, he will be safe from the punishment of Hell, because the gates of Hell are closed.

But there is no doubt that dying in this month is a sign of good luck. If a person passes away in this month with good deeds, it will be a cause of extra dignity for him.
