The ship left Cyprus on Saturday (March 30). On March 16, a ship under the supervision of the Spanish charity Open Arms left for Gaza with 200 tons of food. They were distributed by the charity World Center Kitchen (WCK). The mission was funded by the United Arab Emirates. And everything was supported by the government of Cyprus.
A temporary jetty has been built in Gaza to ship food directly by sea. After the first ship went ashore, the food products were taken ashore by barge.

The war between Hamas and Israel started on October 7 last year. After more than six months of fighting, the people of Gaza are facing a food crisis.
Israel, the occupier, does not allow food to enter Gaza. Israel had imposed a blockade on Gaza even before the war. But at that time food products were entering the valley. But after the start of the war, they stopped all kinds of food aid.
However, thousands of aid trucks are parked at the Rafah border in Egypt and the Israel-Gaza border. But as they do not reach the common people, they spend days without food.
Last week the International Court of Justice in The Hague ordered Israel to allow food aid to reach Gaza. Meanwhile, a US official said that famine has occurred in the northern part of Gaza.
