Incidentally, Asim Jawad was born on March 20, 1992. He passed SSC from Savar Cantonment Public School in Dhaka in 2007 and HSC from Savar Cantonment Public College in 2009. He joined the Bangladesh Air Force on January 10, 2010 and was commissioned in the GD (P) branch on December 1, 2011 with the Sword of Honour, the highest award for cadets.
Asim Jawad participated in various professional courses at home and abroad during his service and completed them successfully. He completed Aviation Instructors Post Graduate Diploma from Bangladesh University of Professionals. Apart from this, he completed Fighter Pilots Foundation Training Course from China, Operational Training in Aviation Medicine for Fighter Pilots Course from India, Basic Air Staff Course and Qualified Flying Instructors Course. He received the 'Mofiz Trophy', 'Air Chief's Trophy' and Air Chief's Certificate in recognition of his professional skills and achievements. Apart from this, he received the Indian Air in recognition of his success in participating in courses in the Indian Air Force.

Pilot Asim Jawad died while undergoing treatment at Banouja Isa Khan Hospital (Navy Hospital) in Patenga on May 9. Earlier that day at around 10:30 a.m., a training fighter aircraft named Yak-130 of the Bangladesh Air Force took off from Patenga Jahurul Haque Air Base in Chittagong. Shortly thereafter, the aircraft developed a mechanical fault and caught fire. Soon after, Air Wing Commander Sohan and Air Squadron Leader Asim Jawad parachuted into the river before crashing into the Karnaphuli river in Patenga area and were injured. Later they were rescued and admitted to Patenga Navy Hospital. Biman's wing commander Sohan Zahurul Haque is undergoing treatment at the base's medical squadron. However, pilot Asim Jawad died around 12 noon while undergoing treatment at Navy Hospital in Patenga.
