In Khulna’s Paikgacha Upazila, the local community in Deluti mobilized to repair a collapsed embankment, restoring it within 5 days. The embankment, crucial for protecting the area, had succumbed to damage on August 22, causing extensive flooding across 13 villages and affecting about 13,000 residents.
Vital agricultural and aquacultural areas were also devastated. Deluti Union Parishad Chairman Ripon Kumar Mandal confirmed the successful reinforcement of the embankment on August 26, highlighting the relentless efforts of thousands from surrounding areas who worked day and night. Simultaneously, relief efforts were intensified to support the displaced, involving local and governmental organizations delivering essential supplies and medical aid.
