Product prices have come down to bearable levels: Prime Minister Prime Minister

Sheikh Hasina said that at the beginning of Ramadan, the prices of some products including dates, imported fruits, lemons, watermelons and onions were a bit high. However, the prices of these products have come down to normal and tolerable levels within a few days. He said these things in a speech given to the nation on Monday on the occasion of Great Independence and National Day. Sheikh Hasina said that when the price of goods increases, the common people, especially people with limited income, suffer. We are trying our best to ease people's suffering. Going forward facing all obstacles: Prime Minister I have been able to fulfill the expectations of the countrymen to a large extent He said, keeping ahead of this year's Ramadan month, we have already built enough stock of some products including sugar, gram, dal, edible oil. 50,000 metric tons of onions and about the same amount of potatoes are allowed to be imported from India so that no one can make more profit by creating a monopoly market. Besides, from the beginning of Ramadan, fish, meat, eggs and milk are being sold in trucks at least 25 places in the capital Dhaka for the marginal population at cheap prices. He also said that in the first phase, TCB is distributing these 5 products - rice, dal, edible oil, sugar and gram - at affordable prices to one crore card holder families across the country. In the second phase, rice, pulses, edible oil, sugar, chickpeas and dates - these 6 products are being distributed to cardholder families in Dhaka and surrounding areas. And on the occasion of Eid, the government has given a special allocation of 1 lakh 628 metric tons of rice to 1 crore 62 thousand 800 families across the country. Each family will get 10 kg of rice for free. Noting that we have discouraged the organization of Iftar parties, the Prime Minister said, We have discouraged the organization of Iftar parties this year officially and party-wise. Awami League and all its affiliated organizations are distributing Iftar items among the poor and needy up to the grass root level. He said that the Awami League government has always been running the state by upholding the constitution. We have made the national parliament the focal point of all the activities of the state. Local level development is ensured by people's representatives through elections at all levels of local government. For ages our territory has been the target of colonial powers. At various times, foreign powers have ruled this country under their control, looted resources, exploited. Bengalis never tasted full freedom. The Prime Minister said that through 23 years of political struggle and 9 months of armed liberation war under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Bengali nation gained complete freedom for the first time by forming an independent and sovereign state in 1971. But it is an unpleasant fact that the conspiracy to undermine this freedom-sovereignty of ours and to thwart the desire for economic liberation has not stopped even today. The conspirators are still trying to figure out how to stop Bangladesh's march forward. He said, the defeated powers of seventy-one and the assassins of seventy-five and their accomplices are still eager to avenge their defeat. They will strike when they get the chance. The only obstacle in front of them is Awami League. If Awami League can be wiped out or weakened by trickery, the rise of defeated forces is inevitable. So be careful. Bengali is a nation of heroes. We have taken away the freedom of this country by fighting. Friendship with all, enmity with none - We run the country by following this foreign policy dictated by the Father of the Nation. We have no lord, we have friends. Therefore, the Bengali nation will never accept anyone's bloodshot eyes, said the Prime Minister.
